The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ managed other people’s capital

“The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was himself a manager of other people’s capital (mudaarib), taking in investments to engage in the caravan trade, risking the harsh environment of the desert and the dangers of banditry, buying real goods on his travels and returning to the city to sell them in the market, and then splitting the profits according to a pre-agreed formula with his investors. This was the purest form of Islamic finance.”
