Shaykh Shadee Elmasry admitted that he misspoke and was mistaken about what he thought was a hadith mentioning the folding of the corner of the prayer mat at the end of salah. This practice is popular in many parts of the Muslim world, such as Pakistan, Turkey, and Mauritania etc… His point about husn al-ẓann (having a good opinion of others and giving them the benefit of the doubt) and its relation to tradition, however, still stands and is greatly appreciated.
