Islamic Jurisprudence and the Rejection of Corporate Structures: Emphasizing Individual Responsibility

According to Shaykh Sohail Hanif, modern corporations, where individuals can distance themselves from responsibility, do not align with Islamic teachings. In Islam, when people form a business partnership, they must bear all the risks and responsibilities. There is no concept of a corporation acting as a separate legal entity where the individuals are not personally accountable. For example, large companies like Tesco or Apple cannot escape responsibility by claiming that the corporation, not the individual, is at fault. In Islam, humans are always held responsible for their actions.
