Zionism Will Fall Just Like Communism

Shaykh Abdul Hakim Murad once reflected on a powerful lesson from his time in Tashkent during the Soviet era. Forty years ago, he walked down Navoi Prospect, where an enormous statue of Karl Marx loomed, towering 20 meters high. In front of it, a thousand Uzbek women in traditional dress performed a state-choreographed dance, bowing before this idol. The mosques were closed, the adhan silenced, and the cold hand of atheism seemed triumphant. The arrogance of disbelief felt overwhelming.
Yet decades later, he returned to find the statue gone, the dancers disappeared, and the adhan once again echoing through the city. Tashkent had reclaimed its heritage, its faith, and its identity. The land of Imam al-Bukhari and countless scholars was revived, a testimony to the fall of all tyrannies and false idols.
Reflecting on this transformation, Shaykh Abdul Hakim reminded us that arrogance—kibr—is the root of all rebellion against Allah. It began with Iblis, who refused to bow to Adam out of pride. This same arrogance drives the tyrants and oppressors of every age. Yet history teaches us that pride always precedes a fall. The oppressors, no matter how powerful, will be swept away by forces they could never anticipate.
For Muslims today, witnessing the injustices in places like Gaza and beyond, this truth offers both solace and resolve. Tyranny will not last. Allah’s justice will prevail. Our task is to remain steadfast, resist arrogance in ourselves, and trust in His ultimate plan. As Shaykh Abdul Hakim reminds us, arrogance is fleeting, but Allah’s justice is eternal.
