Dogs In Islamic Jurisprudence. šŸ•

According to Islamic jurisprudence, Muslims cannot have a dog inside the home:

• The Prophet Muhammad (peace & blessings be upon him) sought to connect humanity with angels.

• Angels are put off by dogs in the same way humans are put off by cockroaches, spiders, and rats.

• If you keep a dog in the house, the angels of mercy will not enter your home.

• Dogs have a lot of *najasa* (impurities) such as urine, saliva, and defecation.

• Angels prefer to be around cleanliness.

• Islamic jurisprudence does make exemptions. The following categories of people can have a dog:

  A) Shepherds
  B) Nomads
  C) Homeless people

• So, according to Islam, there is nothing “morally” wrong with dogs. They are a lovely creation of God. However, angels don’t like to be around them and won’t enter a home that has one inside.

• So if you want a dog, that’s fine. Give him the best food, build him the best dog house, love him and hug him, but don’t let him inside your home.
