Exploring Messianic Beliefs: Perspectives from Jewish and Islamic Eschatology

I’ve seen some Muslims and Christians make the claim that there really isn’t any difference between Zionist Jews and Anti-Zionist Jews. These Muslims and Christians believe that when the awaited Messiah of the Jews comes, the current Anti-Zionist Jews will behave in the same discriminatory, genocidal, bloodthirsty way as the current Zionist Jews. In other words, the only difference is the timescale.

When Dilly @DillyHussain88 first hosted Rabbi Elhanan Beck, an Anti-Zionist Jewish Rabbi who has led his community against the State of Israel for many years, on his podcast, he posed this very question to him.

Rabbi Elhanan Beck then made the following points in the clip below:

– They don’t know who the Messiah will be.

– They don’t know if it’s a person who is alive today or someone who has already passed away but will come back.

– The Jews have 13 principles, the 12th of which is that there will come a Messiah.

– When the Messiah appears, he will have powerful spirituality and rule by justice.

– All the people of the world will recognize him as the Messiah and serve God.

– There will be peace between people.

– Even animals will be peaceful with each other.

– It’s a misconception that Jews will be kings and the rest of the non-Jews will be slaves.

– The Jewish scriptures state that the third temple will come down from the heavens and be built from fire. What that exactly means, they don’t know.

– This does not mean the destruction of the Al Aqsa mosque.

I would like to link this to something Shaykh Shadee @DrShadeeElmasry said in one of his live streams. He said that according to Islamic eschatology, when Jesus (PBUH) comes back, he will:

– Confirm the Prophethood of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

– Confirm that he (Jesus) is a Prophet of God and not God incarnate, and proceed to break the cross to show that the Trinity is blasphemy.

– Fight the Antichrist / The Dajjal.

Then many sincere Christians and Jews will eventually accept Islam after witnessing the actions of Jesus (peace be upon him) in combating evil and upholding justice.

Thus it’s possible that some Jews will support Jesus (peace be upon him) and the Mahdi, while others may follow the Antichrist / The Dajjal / The Great Deceiver as their awaited Messiah.

In other words, currently, some Jews believe that when their Messiah appears, the goyim/non-Jews will be subjugated and enslaved, while other Jews, like Rabbi Elhanan Beck, do not hold that to be the case.

Allah knows best.
